I like that they’ve gone their own route, and aren’t simply trying to be an iPhone. Android devices remind me a lot of Linux on the desktop, there’s always some nice features, and the hackability can be fun; but ultimately it just doesn’t have the polish of the commercial offerings. </p> <p>Windows Phone 7 looks like a phone I could actually use. But it does it have the ecosystem around it? Not just for apps, but in music and video too? Will there be regular updates? Can I sync it with my iMac to get all my photos?</p> <p>That’s the problem with phones. You have to make a two year commitment to them, so there’s no opportunity to just try it out. I’d need to be completely sure of my choice.
